Although Ubisoft was dedicated to virtual reality, the company did not take advantage of mixed-reality technologies. That seems to be about to change, since they seem to work on something for HoloLens.

During the Unite Europe 2017 conference, Ubisoft held a lecture titled “AR Prototyping for HoloLens”. During the event, the company talked about what it was doing with the Microsoft holographic device.

The first game they showed was Toy Soldiers, which seems to be a strategy game that you can play on your table. Imagine being able to control armies in your living room while they use various objects in your house like map.

Their second game was Rabbid Rockets, in which strange creatures flew everywhere. Apparently, the ultimate goal of the game would be to knock out as many of them as possible by tapping or shooting at them.

Although the games are still prototypes, they already seem very entertaining, according to the reports. They have a more casual footprint, but it’s still great to see a major publisher like Ubisoft exploit the potential of new technologies that rely heavily on compelling content to take off.

And, of course, they are still the first experiments. It is quite possible that Ubisoft has other cards up its sleeve. In the meantime, we do not know when HoloLens will be released, but we can already wait for cool content ready when it hits the shelves.

Last month, Ubisoft surprised the audience present at E3 2017 during the presentation of Microsoft, when it introduced the game ” Assassin’s Creed: Origins.” The featured trailer showed that it will be spent in Ancient Egypt, thus telling about the past and origin of the Brotherhood of the Assassins.

According to the developer studio, although it happens in more remote times, the game will have a very dynamic world, including options of camel riding, swimming underwater, attacks between animals, a shield for the protagonist, and much more.

“Assassin’s Creed: Origins” is planned to be released on October 27th and is being developed by the same team as “Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag”.
