The struggling Twitter Inc. (NYSE:TWTR) continues to overhaul its micro blogging platform to entice more customers. The success of Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB), WhatsApp and other similar social networking sites has been pruning Twitter’s credibility to a large extent. In the current year the firm has faced several setbacks, of those the most important is the resignation of CEO Disk Costolo, who stepped down on continuous underperformance of the firm.

Ever since the departure of CEO the firm is trying to reinvigorate growth by bringing different innovations to its network. For now the firm is gearing up for an important change. It is going to launch a remodeled “Follow” and “Tweet” buttons next month.

Twitter is giving a new texture to “Follow” and “Tweet” buttons for the first time in 4 years. Currently the light grey texture is used in the background of those buttons which will be replaced by the logo color of the Twitter i.e. blue or something close to it. The move calls for company’s plan to make the buttons more flatter, appealing and work better.

Twitter will also be closing doors to third-party developers by shutting its share count API interface, so developers can’t develop informal buttons with the share count displayed next to them.

Twitter has also brought some other changes to its network recently. New additions like user profile previews, birthdays on Twitter accounts, the removal of custom profile page background wallpaper and long direct messages.

Along with the changes Twitter has also invited retailers to retail their products through its platform. For this purpose the firm introduced buy buttons. The products from mega brands like Burberry, The Home Depot and Beartooth etc. are a part of this campaign.

In the current month Twitter partnered with Square allowing audience to donate money to their favorite politicians. Candidates can sign up through Square, which will verify their campaign, and then tweet out a donation card complete with a “Contribute” button.

The main outline is that Twitter is innovating itself to hound more users as the firm is suffering from continuous losses over the quarters.
