Sony Corp (ADR) (NYSE:SNE) has carved out a new slimmer, smaller and bulky-featured device dubbed as Xperia Z5 Compact, a smaller version of Xperia 5. The phone comes with some killing features; of those the most important one is the battery life. The phone has average battery timing of up to 3 days.

Sony has rolled out a much smaller device this time. But its small size makes it feel comfortable while holding in a hand. The gadget is 8.9mm thick with 4.6in screen. Owing to the small screen the device has relatively low resolution at 720p with a pixel density of 319 pixels per inch (ppi). On resolution end, the device lags behind its peers who coupled much higher pixel densities, in excess of 400 or 500ppi, with their smartphones. On the other hand its larger 5.2in brother the Xperia Z5 is 1.6mm thinner.

On features end, the device is potentially stable. It comes with octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with 2 GB of RAM. The device has storage of 32 GB and also has micro-SD slot for expanding the storage of desired range. Google’s latest Android 5.1.1 “Lollipop” is home to new device. Additional features like LTE, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 4 and GPS are also included in the device. The gadget weighs 138g.

The most important feature that most customers opt for is the picture quality of the Smartphone camera. Over the years Sony has a reputation of producing high-end DSLR cameras and it has also coupled some serious high-quality cameras with its Xperia lineup. Xperia Z5 Compact comes with an excellent 23MP rear camera and 5MP front-facing camera. The selfie camera produces high quality picture in good light, but loses detail in in-door lighting conditions. The photos look good zoomed out, but noise is apparent when viewed at full resolution.

The phone has equipped with fingerprint scanner, one of the smart feature of the present age which makes users feel safe from security vulnerabilities.

The Sony Xperia Z5 Compact comes with four attracting colors, black, white, yellow and pink. The phone is available for pre-orders. The phone costs £450 comparing iPhone 6S which costs £539 and Samsung Galaxy S6 costing around £400.
