Very first conceptualization of future B-12 long range bomber has been represented by the U.S Air Force — lead by Secretary Deborah Lee James — at the Air Force Association’s Air Warfare Symposium in Orlando, Fla. – an aircraft likely to be built by Northrop Grumman. The artist’s rendering is basically based over its initial design concept due to non-presence of prototypes over it.

INSIGHT: B-21 has been shrouded in layers of mystery until now. Its design was kept secret, even as the government awarded a contract to Northrop Grumman to build it.

As per Air Force claims, Earlier known as Long Range Strike Bomber (LRS-B), now as B-21,brings forthitself as the military’s first bomber of the 21st century.

B-21 is believed to let the Air Force launch from the continental U.S. and deliver airstrikes on any location around the globe. She explained why B-21 resembles B-2.

“The B-21 has been designed from the beginning over a set of requirements that allows the use of existing and mature technology.” – Deborah Lee James

Deborah further announced that bomber’s label would base on suggestions received by Airmen.

“This aircraft represents the future for our Airmen, and [their] voice is important to this process. The Airman who submits the selected name will help me announce it at the [Air Force Association] conference this fall.”

UPDATE: Currently, aircraft design and development project has come into task with Engineering and Manufacturing Development alongside its introduction in mid of year 2020.Excluding any unforeseen delays, aircraft is expected to enter service around 2025.

As per Fox releases, estimated cost for B-21 is worth US$ 564 million/piece. Moreover with upto 100 units within (planned), it is expected not to onlycoincidebest rivalry with America’s first sleek stealth bomber, the famed B-2 Spirit, the iconic B-52 Stratofortress and the supersonic B-1B Lancer, but one day couldsupersede them.
