The highly anticipated Surface Pro 4 will be rumored to launch on October 6 in an event organize by Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT). The software giant is gearing up for its upcoming event, sent out media invites, which promises “some exciting news about Windows 10 devices”. The new event will be specifically important for technology lovers as Intel Corporation’s (NASDAQ:INTC) Skylake processors find their way into devices, which will debut with Surface Pro 4.

Microsoft will launch two new Lumia handsets (the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL), the Microsoft Band 2 and a slimmer Xbox One along with Surface Pro 4, according to Verge.

Microsoft is speculated to launch a much bigger Surface Pro than its predecessor. In fact the firm is rumored to showcase the device with 14-inch display.

Different rumors are circling around whether Microsoft will use Intel’s Core M processor or its more powerful Core i5 and Core i7 variants. But it is highly anticipated that the new device will come with latest Skylake chips rather than Broadwell ones.

Intel’s latest Skylake processors come with Intel’s integrated Iris and Iris Pro graphics technology. Based on leak reports of Intel, new boost in memory improvements could possibly increase 3D gaming performance to 50 percent compared to broadwell chips. This would make Surface Pro 4 a highly suitable device for gaming than Surface Pro 3.

One of the main advantage of the Skylake is that it can also handle K UHD video output at 60 frames per second, and can do so on up to three 4K displays. Skylake would also enable users to wake up Surface Pro device by asking Cortana.

According to Digitimes reports, the new Surface tablet will feature, “the same ultra-thin form factor, bezel size and large-size display as the predecessor model and will come with Intel’s new Skylake processor and Windows 10.”

On features end, the device is looking highly persuasive. It looks Microsoft has done a good job, yet the device will face serious competition in highly competitive market.
