Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is looking forward to discontinue several of its MSN-branded apps during the coming months. The company is notifying users of its MSN Travel, MSN Food & Drink and MSN Health & Fitness apps for all platforms, including Google’s Android, Apple’s iOS and Windows, that it will drop these apps.

The latest announcement came just days after Uber acquired Bing map-data-collection assets from the software maker giant. MSFT also recently left its display ad business. The company had to lay off more than 1,000 employees as a result of these two moves.

The company is planning to drop Food & Drink and Travel app on 28th of September, while Health & Fitness app will be discontinued on 1st of November, according to Neowin. Microsoft is not killing all of its MSN apps such as Weather, Money, News and Sports that company intends to include in its latest Windows 10 and other platforms.

Microsoft is not withdrawing from its dedication to Bing despite its recent moves, according to a company’s spokesperson. MSFT also remains completely dedicated to continue MSN home page. The spokesperson added that some of the content, which was offered by the discontinued MSN apps, can be seen in other places like MSN home page.

Separately, the software maker giant is also thinking to stop support for its PhotoSynth app, which is a photo-stitching app designed by defunct Live Labs of the company. Microsoft hasn’t disclosed any date on which it will stop its support for the app, though it is notifying users of PhotoSynth to get their data and photos out of the app.

The Bing AppEx team developed the MSN Apps, which were previously named as Bing Apps, and were designed to showcase MSN and Bing data. The company’s current leadership is making changes to narrow its focus on profitable segments.
