Are you looking beyond what market is doing in terms of growth? What about if I tell you what recently Boeing claimed; South-East Asia is in need of approx. 3,750 news jets, costing US$ 550 billion in upcoming two decades?
The estimated figure came into discourse during an aviation trade expo Singapore Airshow from Boeing’s senior vice president for Asia Pacific and India sales. Upon to that Reuters reports an estimated 76% of demand in South-East Asia for single aisle aircraft like Boeing 737 and Airbus A330. However, inspite of outsized estimates calculated by Boeing, this year’s Singapore Airshow is being overshadowed by a jittery global economy.
It’s worth mention that there has been no expansion with Asia Pacific with regard to Air travel except for only 6% – within six years of time-span. However, the expansion might likely take a lead at 8%, as so led forth by International Air Transport Association.
The press releases brought up something worth knowing when Philippines Airlines showed interest in purchasing half a dozen Airbus A350-900 jets for an estimated amount of US$ 1.8 billion.
UPDATE: Keskar also revealed that to attain larger market shares, low-cost carriers like Indonesian Lion Air, Malaysian AirAsia, and Indian IndiGo have ordered hundreds of jets from Airbus and Boeing in the past decade and have taken to replacing them with newer models every three or four years.
