A few seconds determine life and death whenever emergency services reach for medical aid after serious accidents. Keeping that fact in view, the scenario is taking a turn as Honda Motor Co. Ltd., Japan Mayday Service Co., Toyota Motor Corporation and Emergency Medical Network of Helicopter & Hospital (HEM-Net) are working together to come up with a new trial service i.e. D-Call Net in Japan.

The ambulance services are designed to reach the accident spot as soon as possible whenever an accident is reported- certainly a best way to improve survival ratio that aimsto make quicker decisions for dispatching air and ground ambulances. The service is designed in such a way that it utilizes data from within the vehicles after traffic accident takes place. Along with newly developed probability estimation algorithm for deaths and serious injuries, this new service estimates the probability of deaths and serious injuries of vehicle occupants as well.

As per reports, D-Call Net is already an extension of what Japan Mayday Servicehas been carrying out through HELPNET emergency reporting system since year 2000. The service exactly will perform a function over vehicles where airbags are deployed -when accidents occur, current location and route data is automatically transmitted from the vehicle to the operation center. A HELPNET operator then communicates with vehicle occupants, and upon their requests, connects them with rescue authorities such as the police department and/or fire department.

Nine hospitals, well equipped with air ambulances through which information could reach within seconds to them, are taking part in this trial service. It’s worth mentioning that the hospitals take the service to be quite beneficial for enhanced rescue response rate which then achieves a reduction in the time after which doctors can begin medical treatment.

In earlier August and October, Toyota re-designed its model cars i.e. Land Cruiser and Crown 1 which are now known to be compatible with D-Call Net. As for the Lexus brand, the redesigned LX (in August), RX (in October), GS (in November), and GS F (in November) are now compatible with the service.

Apart from this an estimate of two years in Japanese continent shows the number of vehicles compatible with D-Call Net to rise upto 400,000 in number.
