Americans planning to purchase Apple Watch turns to 6%

According to the recent ongoing balloting and reports, approx. 6% USA adults have planned to purchase Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) Smartwatch – the ratio of men is likely to be more as compared to women showing such an interest.

As per Reuters/Ipsos poll, Apple Watch has been portrayed as the most preferable and fashionable item in the market that comprise new frontier in technology, quite appealing to both women and men with an interest ratio of 4% to 9% respectively.

In between 8th April – 14th April (year 2015) approx. 1829 adults were polled online which led preorders a week ago. Not to mention, poll had a credibility interval of plus or minus 2.6 percentage points.

According to 2014 U.S. Census projections’ calculations (excluding younger teens), this could mean potential sales of about 15 million watches, if those who said they intended to buy follow through with an actual purchase.

The estimates led by Wall Street had differed to a greater extend between 10 million and 32 million worldwide sales in this year.

Furthermore, Van Baker, an analyst at tech research firm Gartner declared poll results to be depicting a pretty high percentagein the interest rates of consumers:

“It should serve Apple well if they can even get close to that,” he said.

As far as overall interest in the watch as opposed to intending to buy it, the poll showed that 18 percent of respondents were “very” or “somewhat” interested versus 76 percent who showed no interest.

In addition, highest interest was found to be at 34% among men (aged 18 – 28), the same age and gender bracket that gave the watch the highest cool factor at 53%, compared with an overall 42% analysis. Also, aged between 30 and 39 were the most likely buyers, with 13% saying they plans to buy an Apple Watch, followed by 10% of 18 – 29 years old.Among those polled who do not own an iPhone, 8% said they would consider switching to an iPhone in order to purchase an Apple Watch.

According to a poll respondent, Sefu Grady:

“I already have the iPhone, the iPad, pretty much everything that Apple offers.”

There has been no such confirmation by Apple on the number of orders it had received for its Smartwatch; still CEO Tim Cook claims the sales to be ascending rapidly.
