YouTube Connect will be the name of Google Inc (GOOG) new live streaming app. Google has been working on it quietly to compete its competitors like Facebook live and Twitter Periscope. The App will be available on both iOS and Android platforms. Reported by VentureBeats but as of now Google or YouTube Officials doesn’t comment on rumors and speculation.

Many of us already know about Twitters Periscope and Facebook Live and, according to reports YouTube Connect will have much of same functionalities as we are enjoying in Periscope and Facebook Live. You can log into app using your YouTube or Google account and instantly begin streaming from your mobile phone. There will be more features as well, like chat and tagging features, and a news feed.

The App will offer Live Videos which would also be stored/available in their respective YouTube Channels.

The App will have Live Videos available within the app and also on their YouTube Channels, meanwhile you can also store previous broadcasts in the app, quite simply through opt-in after you’ve finished the live stream, so your friends can watch the replays. The reports say that YouTube Connect will not have Facebook and Twitter integration’s as yet which could have make it easier for users to share their live streams on social media.

Industry Gurus believe that Google was fallen behind in the live streaming space losing ground to apps like Periscope, Meerkat which recently pivoted, and Facebook Live, So YouTube Connect will be a good move by the company. Before YouTube Connect, YouTube has offered the ability to live stream but it was bulky, and has to be done via Google’s Hangouts app. There is no streaming option in the popular YouTube mobile app. Now YouTube Connect could open the capability to a much larger audience.

If we talk about its competitors, The Twitters Periscope app helped promote live video streaming, and was named Apple’s “app of the year,” for 2015. After that Social network Giant, Facebook Inc (FB) has jumped in, offering the ability to live stream directly from the Status Update section via your mobile phone.

The amazing powers of Live streaming lets anyone be a broadcaster, without having to care about making the video footage, or editing it. It’s the easiest and effective way for most folks to get video online.
