MONDAY: According to France’s stock market regulators, telecom giant, Nokia has accomplished its goal of conquering approx. 80% of its French-American rival Alcatel-Lucent. In an interim report put forward by French Financial market authority, as for Nokia, it now holds 76% shares and voting rights in Alcatel, under its public exchange offer – which means the least requirement for telecom giant in marking dominance over 50% of shares and voting rights has been fulfilled.

Once more, globally known best mobile phone manufacturer now expects for better yields – to become world’s number one ranking network service provider – with this union ofcourse. Not to mention, the deal could expand Nokia from telecoms networks to Internet networks and cloud services to better compete with its rivals like Huawei of China and the Ericsson of Sweden.

As per press releases, the deal is set to result revenue worth US$ 27.3 billion. For an annual scale 2015, analysts claim Nokia to have had revived its position back in financial market after being lagged behind in race of in-demand smartphone manufacturing in year 2013.

“We are delighted that the offer has been successful, and that Alcatel-Lucent’s investors share our confidence in the future of the combined company.” – Nokia’s chief executive, Rajeev Suri

Last year in December, despite the fears of job cuts among staff (both France and Finland based), Nokia’s shareholders approved the deal – Nokia offered 0.55 shares for each Alcatel-Lucent share at that time.

Apart from this: New photos – first spotted on Weibo by @onleaks, and later published by WMPU – show the smartwatch developed by Nokia under the codename Moonraker. Development of the watch began before Microsoft completed its acquisition of Nokia’s devices and services business in early 2014, but it was Microsoft that ultimately killed the wearable device before it even went on sale. In a press release issued on Nokia’s website, Microsoft’s purchase of Nokia’s Devices and Services unit is officially complete where Microsoft is paying Nokia about US$ 7.17 for the unit and the 10-year licensing of the Finnish company’s patent portfolio.
