Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) is rolling out its Prime Music streaming service in the UK today, in order to compete with Spotify and Apple Music on an international level.

The company launched its music service in the United States last year in June and is now expanding it in the UK, where it will combat with famous service Spotify and recently introduced music service of Apple.

Amazon Prime member will be able to access Prime Music. The company takes £79 per year from its Prime members and opens the doors to its Prime Instant Video that is AMZN’s streaming video service. Prime customers also enjoy faster delivery of physical products.

The e-commerce giant will be hoping that its Prime members living in the UK will start using its music service, as they are already paying for it, instead of giving additional fee to access Apple Music or Spotify. Keeping Prime subscribers happy and enticing new ones is vital for AMZN’s growth strategy, as Prime members usually spend about twice as much on buying products from the company every year as compared to non-Prime customers.

AMZN’s Prime Music will allow users to download music to their devices for listening offline, and can be accessed via Amazon Music app for Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS. It will be also launched on the Fire TV Stick, Fire TV, Fire phone as well as Fire HD and HDX tablets.

Prime Music features more than 1 million tracks that isn’t a big catalogue when compared to Apple Music or Spotify. Head of music at Amazon UK, Paul Firth said in an interview that its two major streaming competitors have a higher subscription fee per year, and cited that AMZN is not contesting head-to-head with Spotify and Apple Music. The company said that for now, it is expanding its streaming offering to the UK only.
