It seems that BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) is giving a final touch to its highly anticipated upcoming rumored Android-compatible smartphone. The latest leak slide from a Canadian phone retailer Baka Mobile underpinned some important features of the device.

The new video leak looks like an elaboration of that speculation. The video reveals some killing features of the upcoming speculated device. The gadget comes with a physical qwerty keyboard, a touch-enabled keyboard which allows users’ to swipe over keys to scroll through emails, or navigate between screens. Same keyboard which BlackBerry introduced last year with BlackBerry Passport.

The device will be powered by the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system. Although the device is android based but BlackBerry has added a taste of its software in the device as well. The device includes BlackBerry Hub and universal search feature in addition to the Google Now, Android’s personal assistant software. The induction of these features elucidates that BlackBerry is aiming to enhance the Android experience by adding its important features.

BlackBerry Hub acts as a focal point for viewing messages and notifications on the device and universal search toolbar enables the users to find email attachments, miscellaneous documents, and conversations stored on the device.

An additional microSD card slot is also a part of the device for increasing storage. The device is also stuffed with a camera button, and a microUSB port for charging the device. The addition of T-Mobile’s My Account app infers that the carrier would be the first to sell the device.

BlackBerry devices are primarily known for their high security software. Their software provides a high level of security, a feature every user opts for. So it is a smart and good move by the smartphone pioneer to combine its high profile security software with most trending Android software. A worthy gambling, it looks like.

Blackberry once the darling of the business world is substantially under assault of the smartphone giants like Apple and Samsung. Over the years the Canadian smartphone maker has tried to woo customers with its smartphone innovations by producing bulky-featured devices but failed to impress the tangle of business customers. Back in July DigiTimes reported that BlackBerry is possibly gearing up for Android supported devices which will launch later this year.
